STi always garaged and parked away from other cars as much as possible. I drive mostly highway taking I-820 West to I-35W North everyday to work at RECARO.. basically, the car is always on smooth tarmac. I have never tracked/raced/tried-to-rally this car EVER.
This STi has normal small rock chips on the front bumper but you can’t see it in pictures. And also a scrape on the front driver side bottom bumper (my fault when I first bought the car) picture is included but you can’t see it either. This happened as I was pulling into a parking spot at a mall and got too close to one of those damned cement block stoppers that are commonly found on the ground in parking lots. Anyways, these are barely noticeable. And because the car’s color is Crystal Grey, any scratches will be hard to see. Also, the top mounted STi intercooler’s fins doesn’t have any dents that I usually see in other used STi’s, almost flawless.
Interior is so perfect I’m not even going to talk about it. Just look at the pictures here.
Use of 93 Octane Gas ALWAYS. I have receipts. Since I drive highway all the time I made an excel spreadsheet documenting my gas costs/maintenance/ and my average MPG, this car gets 22-23 MPG!!! Not bad for 300hp/300lb.ft torque and all-wheel drive.
This car has the infamous “WRX STi inverted strut clunking” as most other STi owners also have noted; it is normal … and can be corrected with simple “lubing.” To me it isn’t even that loud, but it’s there. In my opinion, since the STi doesn’t really have sound insulation anyways, it’s much more noticeable. There is a massive 46 page discussion about it in the NASIOC (North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club) forums. Click here if you’d like to know more. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520870
I don’t know how to judge how much tire tread is left but I estimate at 30-40% left. These are the factory Bridgestone Potenza RE070 225/45R17 summer performance tires with awesome grip.
The clutch grabs as hard as the day I got the car. As I said I have never abused this car, so I never dumped it, never slipped it at 5k rpm to launch, and never rode the clutch. EVER. I do have to “ride the clutch” out of my garage in the morning though, or else it would go way too fast backwards out of my driveway. The only time I ever “push” the car is getting onto the freeway ASAP or just speeding on the freeway. That’s about all the fun I ever have in it. I drive it like a grandma 90% of the time.
You will not find an ’05 STi in completely stock form with as low amount of miles and as well taken care of as this. It has the updated interior center console with the nicest exterior of all Subaru model years.
NonSmoker of course. All maintenance has been done since I bought the car from John Eagle Honda in Dallas (it was kind of weird, Suburu of Dallas is literally right next door). I changed the oil myself with Mobil Synthetic and use a Purelator PureOne oil filter. Got receipts! Oil was last changed at 18500 miles. I will change it free when I sell it.
*ASKING* $25,500 for a hard to find, completely stock, never modified, extended warranty I paid almost 2k for, low miles, well maintained 2005 WRX STi.

For those who thinks this car has been AutoX’ed before I owned the car since I bought it used:
Personally, if I could AutoX this car I would because obviously, that’s what it’s built for as a track car built for that purpose.. but can be used everyday also. It is a SOLID car. If I could drag race it I would too… I bet it’s real fun to fly off the line at maximum traction or slightly breaking all 4 wheels loose. BUT PERSONALLY, I don’t and never have… because I don’t want to buy a fresh new set of expensive performance tires every 10,000 miles or pay for the 9 M.P.G. of high octane gas it would get if I stay in boost the whole time I’m AutoX’ing. I don’t race the car because I don’t want to cause catastrophic damage to the AWD drivetrain and get rejected by Subaru due to abuse. I don’t want to shorten the life of the car because “it was fun” to do donuts in an AWD car or drive like a speed racer on public streets risking damage to a car worth $28k when I bought it. I already paid so much for it, why would I want to rack up maintenance costs for wear items. If I was loaded I would’ve tore this car up at the track.. but unfortunately I’m not. To some.. it is a dream car, abused or not.
Look at all the pictures! They’re worth a thousand words.. and I’ll be glad to take any pictures of anything specific, just email me.
Thanks!
